Transitioning to being a full-time online student can be a lot harder than many students realize. The Academic Strategies course is a great class because it teaches students many different valuable skills such as note-taking skills, test-taking skills, and memorization techniques. These skills and many others in the Academic Strategies class are very beneficial in helping students become successful online learners.
Archeology:
Come take Archeology and be a “detective of the past.” Humans are fascinating creatures. With this class we learn how to reconstruct what came before in our history. How do we know what we ate, when we learned to talk, and where we decided to settle? This class tackles those questions and more. We will examine how we can excavate, preserve, and draw conclusions from dig-sites and artifacts. In the end we will try to make sense of it all and create connections to our current world.

Early Childhood Education:
The class gives students the opportunity to explore educational jobs, responsibilities, and child development. We've all been through the growing-up process and I think my students make a lot of connections between what they learn in the class and their own experiences. I really enjoy seeing how creative students get with the projects assigned.
Intro to Business:
This course provides opportunities to learn and experience a variety of topics in the field of business. Students are exposed to various economies, their roles in our economy, entrepreneurship, marketing, managing financial and technological resources, and the use of social media.
Music Appreciation:
The Enjoyment of Listening not only will provide a historical perspective on music from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, but it will also teach you the essentials of how to listen and really hear (with a knowledgeable ear) the different music that’s all around you. Learning how to truly appreciate sound and melody is the best way to ensure a continued love of this delightful art form.
Sports and Entertainment Marketing:
The Sports and Entertainment Marketing field offers careers that combine entertainment with traditional marketing, but with a whole lot more glamour. Learn how professional athletes, sports teams, and famous entertainers are marketed as commodities and how the savvy people who handle these deals can become very successful. This course will show you exactly how things work behind the scenes of a major entertainment event and how you can be part of the act.
